DECIDE FOR YOURSELF

Worth Forgiving

Worth Forgiving - Vi Keeland 3.5 Stars
Apparently, I'm on a bit of a MMA binge lately.  I don't read a whole lot MMA books, because I'm pretty picky about them.  Ms. Keeland, is a new author to me, I've seen the covers for this series floating around and I'll admit that I was intrigued thanks to the covers.

Some blogs choose to not participate in tours.  It's an individual choice and I have chosen to work with a few.  The reason why?  Because tours have introduced me to some authors I might not have otherwise read.  For whatever reason, the opportunity to read and review this book, flipped my switch.

This is the third book in the series and normally, I'm a stickler for reading in order.  Maybe it's that I'm older (ha ha) or that I feel the need to live fast and loose now but I decided I'd invest my time in this book.  I will say that I tried to read books 1 and 2 before hand but I was only able to read book 1- Worth the Fight.  Worth the Fight was a vacation read for me and I enjoyed it.  After reading Worth Forgiving, I'd like to go back and read book 2, just because I'm a book nerd that way and I feel the need to complete the circle.

Do you have to read them in order?  No you don't.  I didn't feel lost or confused or shortchanged by not having read the books before it.  Overall, I enjoyed the book, I especially enjoyed Jax.

I liked Jax because he was an interesting character, he wasn't just a fighter.  In fact, he was a business man and he used MMA and training to stay in shape and he happened to be really good at it.   Ms. Keeland did a great job of developing the relationship between Jax and Lily very slowly.  Jax knew he was attracted to her and she held Jax at arms length due to her feeling obligated to her overbearing, jerk of an ex-boyfriend.  The good Lord gave Jax a lot patience, that's for sure.  I think Lily is what kept the book from being anymore than 3.5 stars, I just couldn't connect with her...that's just me.  She made some decisions that really made me want to shake some sense into her.  Jax on the other hand?  Yeah, I realllllly liked him.  :-)

Jax and Lily had great chemistry and like I said, I really enjoyed how their relationship was developed from friendship to a full fledged relationship.  I definitely plan on reading Book 2, Vince's book, very soon!
